Another one of my favs from my moleskine of plein air paintings.
Just moved back to LA! Here’s a little painting of my friend’s apartment complex at sunset.
Today was filled with goodbyes and sad tears as I said goodbye to my friends/coworkers at EA. I made my teammates and friends these cards as goodbye gifts.
It’s off to a new adventure for me now in LA. Goodbye, Sims 4!
Welcome to Grimm City, the heart of industrial progression and waste.
A little vis dev painting to help me figure out the look and feel of it!
Rockin’ geometric shapes in some snazzy Miu Miu sunnies!

The only overcast painting in my little moleskine! It’s much harder to capture beauty when you can’t rely on sunlight.

Could you do a speed painting video? It would be awesome to see you paint live... well almost :) I`d also love some advice on how to get into watercolours? Cheers
I’m flattered you want to see a speed painting video from me! I’ve actually never done any videos since I think I’m still figuring out a clean painting process for myself. A lot of my process right now is still very trial and error, but perhaps when I lock it down, I could do a video :).
The plein air paintings I post are actually gouache, which is like a cross between acrylic and watercolor. My biggest tip on working with watercolor/gouache is not to be afraid of the water. I like to wet the paper with clean water before I start painting so my initial pass with paint doesn’t dry right away. It’s also fun at this stage to do bleed effects with the paint in the bg (gives a cool blurry runny look). For watercolor, always work back to front and be aware of places where you want to “save your whites”. The whitest white you’ll ever get is your paper, so don’t cover it if you need it.
I work with gouache because it lets me layer paint. If I don’t like a certain thing I painted, or I want to cover up something in the bg, it’s easy to paint over it in gouache. Watercolor has more transparency, which makes it harder to paint over things (usually takes a few layers of paint).
Hope this helps!
Inque, my favorite villain from Batman Beyond. I started on this when I was rewatching the series, which I kind of miss since I realized how graphic and clean the style is.
One of my favorite paintings I’ve done during my lunch hour.
Like neon lights~ :) What I wore yesterday. I so wish they did glow in the dark!
